The London Coffee Festival 2015

A couple of weeks ago Bill, Shaun and Phillippa headed off to The London Coffee Festival  in search of information, inspiration, - and caffination! (As if we need extra encouragement to drink more coffee!) Here is a sneak peek at what we got up to...

Wise words indeed..
We seriously love coffee at Mainstreet, the delicious smell of freshly ground beans is the first thing to welcome you when entering our shop. Our CAFE has been serving excellent coffee from our well loved La Spaziale machine for almost 7 years now. The opening of our DELI &HOME shop meant a new machine, the fire engine red Conti, and the opportunity to serve and sell a monthly changing range of small batch artisan roasted beans. And so with this in mind, we set out to discover some exciting new roasters and potential new coffee kit to add to our range at Mainstreet - where better than The London Coffee Festival!
Espressos from Square Mile, Flat White from Caravan Coffee
'Coffee Masters' competion - Barista latte art face-off!
Cold Brew from Ozone Coffee Roasters, Chemex tasting with Three Sixty Coffee

Bill training with Dhan Tamang from The Roasting Party -  3 time UK latte Art Champion
The reason Dhan is the Number 1!, Shaun picking up skills to bring back to Mainstreet

In keeping with the bean brewing theme, we swapped coffee for chocolate and managed to sneak away to the new MAST BROTHERS CHOCOLATE London Flagship on Redchurch Street in Shoreditch. These guys are major business in the Chocolate world, the super stylish wrappers are seriously covetable - and the chocolate inside is heavenly. The chocolate is made and matured on site before making its way into beautiful bars and delicious brews. We bought Brooklyn Blend, and Sheep's Milk bars, and refreshed ourselves with siphon brewed hot chocolate, iced cold brew chocolate, and chocolate beer!
